Russell “Cash” Wiedemann, 47 of Paxton passed away at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his home.
“Cash” was born February 5, 1970 in Chicago the son of Russell Emil and Rosetta Ann Matrisciano Wiedemann. He married Samantha Brooks on September 8, 2015 in Gibson City and celebrated their marriage with a service at the Rantoul Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha; five children, Jonathan (Samantha Hoopingarner) Brooks, Trinity Brooks, Tabitha Woods, Dalton Miller, Amber (Michael) Shumate and six grandchildren, Richard and Eleanor Brooks, Aidan, Ericka, Eithan and Jayson Shumate. He was preceded in death by his parents.

“Cash” grew up in Downers Grove, Hinsdale and Westmont. He was a DuPage County Sheriff before going to work for the State of Illinois as a Summons Process Server for 20 years. Before moving to Paxton in 2009, he lived in Wilmington, Cissna Park and Rankin.

“Cash” was a member and Master of Gibson Masonic Lodge #733 A.F.&A.M., a member and secretary of the Paxton Masonic Lodge #416 A.F.&A.M. and a member of the Corn Belt Shrine Club, Gibson City. He enjoyed tractors, guns and shooting and was a Doctor Who Fanatic. “Cash” loved his country and was proud to be an American.
